1. Services
Orchid House Publications provides professional publishing services including but not limited to ghostwriting, book editing, book formatting, cover design, book printing, audiobook production, children's book illustrations, book marketing, book video trailers, and author website development. The specific scope of services provided to each client will be agreed upon in writing prior to the commencement of any project.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time. We also reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any of our services without prior notice.
2. Project Agreements & Quotations
All quotations provided by Orchid House Publications are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. A project will only commence upon receipt of a signed agreement or written confirmation and the agreed deposit payment. Quotations are based on the information provided at the time of enquiry and may be subject to revision if the scope of the project changes.
3. Payment Terms
Payment terms will be outlined in your individual project agreement. In general, a deposit is required before work begins, with the remaining balance due upon project completion or as agreed in installments during the project. Orchid House Publications reserves the right to pause or suspend work on any project where payment is overdue. Final deliverables will not be released until all outstanding balances have been paid in full.
All prices are quoted in the currency specified on your agreement. Orchid House Publications is not responsible for any currency conversion fees or bank charges incurred by the client.
4. Revisions & Approvals
Each service package includes a specified number of revision rounds as outlined in your project agreement. Revisions beyond the agreed number may be subject to additional charges. Clients are responsible for reviewing and approving all work within the timeframes specified. Failure to provide feedback within the agreed timeframe may result in delays or project hold.
5. Intellectual Property & Ownership
Upon receipt of final payment, all intellectual property rights for the completed work including manuscripts, cover designs, illustrations, formatted files, and any other deliverables produced specifically for your project are transferred to the client. Orchid House Publications retains the right to reference completed work in its portfolio and marketing materials unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Clients retain full ownership of all original content, ideas, and materials they provide to us. By submitting content to Orchid House Publications, you confirm that you hold the necessary rights to that content and that it does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
6. Confidentiality
Orchid House Publications treats all client projects, manuscripts, business information, and personal data with strict confidentiality. We will not share your project details or personal information with any third party except where required to deliver the agreed services or as required by law. Clients may request a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to sharing sensitive materials, and we are happy to accommodate this.
7. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing accurate, complete, and timely information required for the delivery of services. Orchid House Publications cannot be held responsible for errors, omissions, or delays resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the client. Clients are also responsible for ensuring that all content they provide does not violate any laws, regulations, or third-party rights.
8. Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellations made before work has commenced may be entitled to a full refund of any deposit paid, less any administrative costs incurred. Once work has begun, deposits are generally non-refundable as they cover the time and resources already allocated to your project. Refund eligibility for partially completed projects will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.
9. Limitation of Liability
Orchid House Publications will always strive to deliver services to the highest professional standard. However, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services, including but not limited to loss of revenue, loss of data, or failure to achieve a particular commercial outcome. Our total liability in any circumstance shall not exceed the amount paid by the client for the specific service in question.
10. Website Use
You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You may not use our website to transmit any harmful, offensive, or unauthorised content, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems. We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to our website at our discretion.
